Dry Stacked Rock Sculpture

Living Rocks are dry stacked sculptures that serve as energy sources for the spirit as food is energy for the body.  Each rock is aligned using ancient techniques that lock them into place.  Weight and pressure are the arch's mortar, and a cairn has the strength of a boulder.

A five foot tall cairn weighs more than three tons and takes hundreds of hours to complete.  Each sculpture is designed to last for generations.  A collection of Living Rocks sculptures withstood 150 mile per hour winds during Hurricane Wilma in 2004.

Cultures worldwide have been creating cairns since the begining of mankind.  Rock stacking and rock balancing have served many purposes from honoring the dead and guiding hikers to creative expression and meditation.   Click here to learn about the history of cairns from Wikipedia.

We work directly with our clients to create custom sculptures.  Commissions range from $600 for a simple 3"tall arch to $2500 and up for a cairn begining at 3".  We are always eager to talk about the possibilites. LivingRocks1@yahoo.com
